1. Mothers & Daugthers by Lauren Cowen and Jayne Wexler
What a beautiful book, the stories are amazing! It's like watching a documentary

2. Unbowed: A Memoir by Wangair Maathai
I couldn't be more impressed! What a woman!

3. The Choice by Nicholas Sparks
This book is good, but I liked and had enjoyed Dear John more!

4. Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
I finished reading this book! It was good, it made me think a lot about life, love and my father.

Happy Halloween! I went trick or treats with my son today. It was fun! He actually doesn't know what candies are. We came home and started throwing them away. Which is good, it should be like that for now.

It's raining
It has been raining
For about a week now
Yesterday was very windy
And stormy
It felt like last year
When we had a big storm
It was big
We even lost power
For about a week
We have to spent a few nights with our friends
Who live near Microsoft
Because their power came in early
They had a wonderful dog
Who made me love dogs
I wasn't crazy about dogs before that
One day we heard that their dog passed away
It was heart breaking
I was hurt
Not as much as them of-course
Now I heard they have a new dog
We haven't met her yet
I'm kind of tired of the rain
It's very windy too
And driving in such weather
Isn't fun!

The squirrel in these pictures likes to sun bath by that tree in front of our house. It's so funny the way it act, it's like it is showing off it's moves to Penda. Penda will be at the window watching it and saying out loud "sqh, sqh..", which means squirrell. Sometimes the whole family will be there chasing each other, which seems like dancing and a big preformance for us.

A birthday gift

Don't you love having friends! I do, I got this for my birthday from one of my friend and I love it. I just have to plan a date, so I can go out with my new beautiful bag.

I have decided that I'm going to eat healthy, very healthy and am going to make healthy eating part of my life. I'm going to prepare / eat at least a hot meal each day, home made. I'm going to take all of the junk food, fast food, sodas away from my diet. This decision has been triggered by what I have seen this weekend.

Here is another reason why Americans needs to put up maps in their children's bedrooms, travel more and make sure their children takes Geography in school. I went shopping today at a nearby mall and at my favorite clothing store called Forever21. A woman behind the counter asked me where I was from. I don't even know how she could tell hat I wasn't from here. I said NAMIBIA and of-course like many many other people here, she had never heard of Namibia before. I told her that it's a country by South Africa and then she said "by Africa", I thought, by Africa, what's that mean? I said is a country in Africa and then she said "Oo oo, that's where I'm going next year". I was like "where" and then she said "Africa". I am graduating next year from my high school and my father asked me to choose a country in the world to visit and I chose Africa. Africa is not even a country is a continent, anyway I asked her where in Africa and she said just Africa. I seriously couldn't believe that this girl who is graduating next year from high school doesn't even know that Africa is not a country and they call Seattle one of the most literate city in the United States. Anyway, I told her to go to Namibia. She asked if it was beautiful and I replied, very beautiful. She then told me that I have a beautiful accent, which made me smile.

You have to see this (Miss Teen USA 2007 - South Carolina answers a question during the pageant) if you haven't already!

This picture of me and my son was taken by Fumi at an Ethiopian restaurant in Seattle while waiting for food. He was being a little impatient, so we decided to read a book together

We had a nice long weekend. A friend who I met during my undergraduate studies about nine years ago visited us. l can't believe it was that long. She is from Japan and now here in the US with work for a few months. I visited her in Japan once and then she came to attend our wedding in Maryland seven years a go. Her next trip is Namibia, so she says..
